Who Luke works with

Luke works with boys and men from age 8 through adulthood, seeing clients in person at the Middletown, KY office and online. Many of his clients feel like anxiety, depression, OCD, or intrusive thoughts have started running their life, causing them to avoid situations, disengage from what matters, or feel trapped by unwanted thoughts and the repetitive behaviors that come with trying to manage them. Most are looking for something deeper: peace, steadiness, and a clearer sense of who they are and where they're headed.

Luke's approach

Luke, LPCA, holds a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University and is ACT trained, with hands-on experience working with anxiety, OCD, depression, and suicidal thoughts in boys and men. His style is calm, relational, and client-paced. He doesn't push clients to process something before they're ready, and shame, confusion, or uncertainty are all welcome in the room exactly as they are.

Clinically, Luke draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and CBT, with ideas from Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy woven in to help clients understand the beliefs shaping how they see themselves and the world. For anxiety and OCD, that can mean gradually facing feared situations rather than avoiding them; for depression, small, values-based steps back toward what matters.

For clients who want it, Luke brings a thoughtful, unforced Christian integration — space to examine how what you believe about God shapes what you believe about yourself, woven naturally into the work rather than tacked onto a technique. This matters most for clients wrestling with guilt, shame, fear of God, or a theology that's made their suffering heavier instead of lighter.

Common questions

Do you only work with adults?+

No. Luke sees boys from age 8 through adult men, adjusting his approach to fit where each client is developmentally.

Do I have to include faith in counseling?+

Only if you want to. Luke's Christian integration is available, never forced, and stays clinically grounded either way.

What is ACT, and how does it help?+

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you relate differently to painful thoughts and feelings so they stop dictating what you do, building the willingness and clarity to act on what matters even when distress is present.

Do you have experience with heavier struggles, like suicidal thoughts?+

Yes. Luke works directly with anxiety, OCD, depression, and suicidal thoughts in boys and men, and takes these concerns seriously rather than steering around them.
