You might be here because
- You've tried to think your way out of anxiety, and it hasn't worked.
- Painful thoughts or memories keep pulling you off course.
- You're stuck, and you're not sure what you even want anymore.
- You avoid things that matter because of how they make you feel.
- You've heard of ACT and want to know if it fits you.
- You want practical tools, not just talk.
Less fighting, more living
Most of us try to get rid of painful thoughts and feelings. ACT takes a different approach: learning to notice them without being pushed around by them, getting clear on what matters most to you, and taking steps in that direction, even when it's uncomfortable. ACT has strong research behind it for anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic stress, and more.
Practical, and built around your values
ACT sessions are active. You'll practice skills like stepping back from sticky thoughts, making room for hard feelings, and staying present. You'll also name your values, the kind of person you want to be, and turn them into small, concrete steps between sessions.
Faith at the center, never forced
ACT's focus on values fits naturally with faith for many people: living by what you believe matters, even when it's hard. If you want faith to be part of your counseling, your counselor will bring it in. If not, you'll get the same clinical care. You lead.

Common questions
What does ACT stand for?

Is ACT the same as positive thinking?
No. ACT doesn't ask you to replace hard thoughts with happy ones. It helps you hold them more lightly.
What does ACT help with?
Anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic stress, trauma, and feeling stuck, among others.
